■The Feature “Kutani”
The 86 pages all make a feature of Kutani-yaki (Kutani-ware), covering the masterpieces that show the history from the birth of ko-kutani (old Kutani) to the present time, how one Kutani plate is made out of porcelain stone, six different types of Kutani-wares and techniques that the six Kutani ware artists have made and the challenges of traditional craftsmen standing up to revitalize Kutani-wares and the production region.
■Hatayama Shippou seisakusho
It has been said that Shippou yaki (which translates to cloisonne-ware) is originated from ancient Egypt, its exquisite and durable work has been highly prized and used for jewelry, ritual articles, medals and so on through the ages. Tokyo based Hatayama Shippou Seisakusho (Hatayama Cloisonne-ware Factory) that innovates a new method and offers the charm of Shippou, light-hearted talks about its characteristics and production process.
■Manufacturing Fude (brushes)
The brush materials and ingenious production flows enable only Fude to achieve delicate and emotional expressions. Hakuhodo, very proud of Menso Fude (a brush for doll’s face) manufacturing, believe it is the origin of their business and introduce the entire production process from the procurement of brush hairs- fude is a tool to support Japanese traditional industries.
■Visiting porcelain china factories in Europe
