■The Feature “Glassware”
Glassware is highly appreciated in summer as it looks cool. There are lots of colorful glasses, glass bowls and pitchers in shops and you can buy them at reasonable prices despite the fact that glass used to be quite pricy until recently. The 72 pages all make a feature of glassware, covering its history, producers and users throughout Japan - Satsuma (Kagoshima), Hizen (Saga), Kyoto, Aomori, Noto (Ishikawa), Tokyo and so on.
■The Story of Working People on the Earth - Restaurant Omiya
Katsuo Omiya, owner and chef at Restaurant Omiya, who also writes a series of recipes in our magazine, Fudebako, looks back on his past year which eventually became his watershed year - from the wedding of his daughter- walking in her father’s footsteps as a chef - held in Alsace, France, which is the birthplace of the groom, to the opening of a new branch restaurant in Marunouchi, Toyo.
